T-Commerce Ltd creates feature rich web applications.
We specialise in server side programming, constructing multi platform programs which are highly technical and that involve intelligently designed security layers and a multitude of stored procedures within our software, enabling advanced and effective transaction processing solutions as part of automating key business processes.
We create a core engine and the required bespoke middleware that enables end users through their browsers on their workstations, mobile telephones and now the TV, to access a site and its services to conduct multi platform secure transactions.
  • This level of interactivity via the computer is broadly described as e-commerce.
  • When this occurs via a mobile device it is called m-commerce.
  • TV based transaction processing is known as t-commerce.
Increasingly web applications will be built to operate on multiple platforms.
From a development perspective each platform has different considerations and challenges.
Interface platforms should all integrate with a core centralised database/ data source and there needs to be carefully tiered and suitably programmed software for all user interfaces and platforms which reflect the different technical and security issues concerned.
E-COMMERCE
As a software house, the development of applications which automate processes is our core function.
Whether it is used for the buying and selling of services and products over the net as an additional commercial tool for existing bricks and mortar businesses, a means to deliver and distribute actual services and products or is used as a technology to improve the efficiency of a businesses working processes and communications (internal “Intranets” and within its entire supply chain network “Extranets”), E-Commerce is now well established and accepted as one of the most revolutionary business methodologies in modern history.
Improvements in the efficiency of hardware, operating systems and communications technologies are continuing to evolve at an ever increasing pace.
This technical advancement combined with the experience of key company decision makers over the past few years from first generation E-Commerce systems and the knowledge and wisdom that they have gained (in understanding how this technology can best compliment their specific business operations), now provides opportunities for a whole new generation of advanced E-Commerce systems providing a level of automation and efficiency which previously would not have been practical or possible.
At T-Commerce Ltd, we see our role as the facilitator for our clients in turning their concepts and ideas into the most efficient software tools to enable them to achieve their core business objectives.
M-COMMERCE
Mobile Telephony has grown globally at the same dizzying pace as the Internet during the last few years and is now merging as increasingly Internet access and Web based functionality are being included as core features within the latest generation of mobile Telephones and devices.
M-Commerce although still in its relative infancy, is the provision of interactive services to an increasingly mobile user audience who are freed from the confines of their desktops.
Despite the current cost restrictions and limitations by the existing mobile phone companies and infrastructure, the demand and speed of growth is already growing the mobile web into a massive industry platform.
There will be continuing growth in demand for specifically optimised and feature rich mobile web sites and applications with ever increasing functionality potential.
These can be to securely deliver m-commerce functionality to a mobile site and to additionally integrate with a multiple platform corporate extranet and through carefully designed security layers to key databases and servers.
Furthermore with the increasing specification of mobile hardware and the ever growing speed, range and availability of Wi-Fi based networks (public and private) that will continue to emerge over the medium to long term throughout the world, there will be a massive demand for mobile web services and their integration until and after the point where access to the web is no longer an issue to anyone, anywhere and on any device.
Ironically, of all the core new functionality that is becoming possible using mobile devices, one of the most fundamental applications which is possible is the rise of IP telephony.
Voice data is the same as other forms of data transmitted over the Internet, in that data is sent and received in packets and according to predefined transmission protocols.
The pace of progress is unstoppable even though there are still many restrictions remaining that need to be circumnavigated due to a plethora of issues and reasons, notably; political (having sold licenses for billions of pounds to network providers, governments are not rushing to change the status quo) current network providers (who have established network monopolies and income models that they will not willingly undermine) and technical issues (current network speed and hardware limitations).
Regardless of these current hurdles, over the next few years as Wi-Fi networks become wider and wider in their reach, the whole concept of Mobile IP services and mobile applications will increasingly revolutionise the way we communicate and interact.
These ongoing technical advancements will simply increase the opportunities for M-Commerce and will drive the need for businesses of all sizes to carefully consider their strategy for establishing a mobile web presence to compliment their computer accessed, web sites and services.
T-COMMERCE
Our company name is also the same terminology for what is set to be one of the most rapidly developing technical evolutions of the coming years.
t-commerce is the provision of transaction processes via software through web enabled digital television (E-Commerce for the TV).
Each technical platform has its benefits and target audience and for B2C (business to consumer) retail and consumer brands especially, the next big platform leap is the accessing of web services via the TV and this will undoubtedly become a key battleground for market share in many industries.
Until now t-commerce the industry has been limited to users of satellite or cable TV pressing the little red button to view an additional tier of broadcast material.
This is the very beginning of a massive new industry which many in the industry anticipate will end with the TV providing the same degree of functionality as the computer except to a potential untapped marketplace that can be measured in terms of billions of people.
The TV will be another driver introducing a whole additional generation of new users to the web that were not drawn in by the computer or mobile phone. This potential user market can be measured in terms of hundreds of millions of potential new customers and takes the concept and reach of TV away from simply territorial markets only.
As a new generation of TV handset standards and protocols becomes uniform and a new generation of TV’s with built in or plug in hard drives become established, the TV with its long established place as the central screen for the home will enable a whole new range of web based interactive content and services.
Optimum success in this sphere for new market movers over the next few preliminary years will be by design – as there are a myriad of issues that need to be traversed and planned for.
Just as occurred when the web became mainstream a decade ago, these will change the status quo of broadcasting networks and suppliers and will provide opportunities for new and existing brands to establish themselves upon this revitalised and refreshed mass market platform.
Already BBC, Microsoft, Google and YouTube to name a few leading brands, have created specific TV based versions of their web sites. This trend will increasingly be one of the latest growth areas for several years as the concept of t-commerce, becomes mainstream.
